What's Orixa?
Orisha expression is the foundation of all Salsa culture, music and dance. Giving birth to Mambo, Salsa, Rumba, Son and Timba; Orisha music and movement are at their core.
This Artistic expression of music, movement and storytelling trace back to ancient Africa as far as 6000 BCE. Since then, hueman beings have passed down oral history and wisdom from generation to generation thru this methodology. The wonders of nature and the natures of mankind are articulated with Iwa Pele or Good Character as its aim. Each story empowers hueman expression, understanding and good character.
These expressions became the folkloric dance and music of the Caribbean and South American African peoples to include Brazil and Cuba.
